What are you chasing?
So you want wealth and power, don’t you? What do you plan to do once it’s in your grasp?
Will you buy everything you can? Will you silence those who stand in your way?
But do you ever think about what comes next? How could you? You want it now.
Or is it for something else? Attention? Love? You chose the artificial kind the one made to fulfill your desires.
And when money talks, you hold conversations with it like it’s your friend.
And fear walks with you. You barely notice it moves with you, naturally.
When all else fails, at least you have fear. It comforts you, stays close, knows you better than anyone else.
But when the doors are closed, and it’s just you and your thoughts, what do you think about?
Is something missing? You could have anything you wanted, so why does it still feel empty?
Wasn’t this what you always wanted?
You tell yourself yes—just like the rest of your lies. It seems you don’t know what you want.
I don’t wish to understand you. How could I understand someone that doesn’t completely understand themselves?
But I know one day, you’ll lie down, unable to get back up. That day, everything you hold dear will be lost.
And maybe then, in some silence, you’ll feel it the thing you chased was never the thing you needed.
